Aluminum Profile

Industrial aluminum extrusion profiles

Overview

The aluminum profile element allows you to create standardized aluminum extrusion profiles commonly used in industrial applications, machine frames, and modular construction. These profiles feature T-slots for easy assembly and modification.

Key Features

  • Standard series: 20, 30, 40, 45
  • Various size configurations
  • T-slot compatible design
  • Full position and rotation control

Parameters

Configure your aluminum profile.

Parameter Description Example
series Profile series designation 20
size Profile size designation 20x20
length Length of the profile 1000
material Material/color of the profile #A4A4A4
x, y, z Position in 3D space 0, 0, 0
rx, ry, rz Rotation angles in degrees 0, 0, 0

Available Series

Standard aluminum profile series.

Series Description Common Sizes
20 Light-duty profiles 20x20, 20x40, 20x60
30 Medium-duty profiles 30x30, 30x60, 30x90
40 Heavy-duty profiles 40x40, 40x80, 40x120
45 Extra heavy-duty profiles 45x45, 45x90, 45x180

Choosing the Right Series

  • 20 Series: Light loads, small machines, enclosures
  • 30 Series: Medium loads, workstations, guards
  • 40 Series: Heavy loads, machine frames, conveyors
  • 45 Series: Maximum strength, structural applications

Usage Examples

Learn how to create aluminum profiles.

Basic Profile

A standard 20-series square profile:

Type Series Size Length Material X Y Z
aluprofile 20 20x20 1000 #A4A4A4 0 0 0

This creates a 20x20mm profile, 1000mm long, in standard aluminum color.

Heavy-Duty Profile

A rectangular 40-series profile:

Type Series Size Length Material RY
aluprofile 40 40x80 500 #A4A4A4 90

This creates a 40x80mm profile, 500mm long, rotated 90 degrees around Y-axis.

Best Practices

Tips for working with aluminum profiles.

Design Recommendations

  • Choose appropriate series based on load requirements
  • Consider T-slot compatibility when mixing different series
  • Account for connector lengths in overall dimensions
  • Use standard lengths when possible for cost efficiency
  • Consider assembly sequence when positioning profiles
  • Plan for cable management and accessory mounting

Common Applications

  • Machine frames and enclosures
  • Workstation and assembly tables
  • Conveyor systems
  • Safety guards and fencing
  • Display and exhibition stands
  • Laboratory equipment
  • Clean room installations

Accessories Compatibility

Aluminum profiles can be enhanced with various accessories:

  • T-slot nuts and bolts
  • Corner brackets and gussets
  • Panel mounting clips
  • Hinges and door components
  • Cable management solutions
  • Leveling feet and casters
  • End caps and covers

Common Issues and Solutions

Solutions to frequently encountered problems.

Series/Size not recognized

Check that the series and size format matches exactly (e.g., "20" and "20x20"). The series is a number, and size uses the format "WxH".

Profile orientation incorrect

Use rotation parameters to orient the profile. By default, profiles are oriented along their length in the Z-axis. Use ry=90 for horizontal orientation.

T-slots not aligning

Check rotation values and ensure profiles are properly oriented relative to each other. The same series profiles should align their T-slots when properly positioned.
